Health Benefits of Coffee

By adam eric at 2011-01-24 00:59:14
If you are looking for a drug that will lower your risk of developing diabetes, Parkinson's disease and colon cancer, than continue reading this article. If you are looking for a drug that could lift your mood and help headaches, keep reading this article. If you are looking for a drug that could protect against cavities, keep on reading.

Health benefits of coffee to justify my cup! Nothing beats the aroma of the flavored coffee bean going through our house. My coffee mate puts our coffee pot on at 6am and not soon after, I am enjoying my first coffee and watching the morning news and reports on tv. I love my coffee and was determined to find a good reason to justify Java and learn about the health benefits of coffee.

Two studies have been focused on the connection between coffee and Parkinson's disease. One found that heavy drinkers were less likely to develop the disease when compared to non-drinkers while another found that the amount of coffee consumed was inversely related to an individual's likelihood of developing Parkinson's.

However what most people sorely miss out is that such things happen over very long periods and that to if your daily consumption is very high. And I am talking 5 to 6 cups a day. In the regular dosage that most of us are used to (1 - 2 cups/day) there are many health benefits that are quit surprising.

Caffeine, of course, is the main ingredient in your cup of java. Researchers have proven that a safe amount would be one or two cups a day. When more than two cups are exceeded your body may suffer the negative effects. This may include insomnia, migraines, increased or irregular heartbeat, nausea and muscle tension. Your doctor may advise you to drink less caffeine as continued extreme use may lead to ulcer or heartburn.

The thing is, there was no dose response association (if you drank more you got better protection), generally considered a stronger indication of cause-and-effect. The difficulty could come from the problems involved in accurately measuring how much coffee or tea the study subjects actually drank.

In the past, many exercise and health experts have not been promoting coffee in belief that coffee, together with other caffeinated drinks, causes dehydration and does not add up as source of daily fluid intake in the diet. The truth behind this myth is that the mild diuretic effect that coffee has results to increased frequency in urination but does not actually contribute to the further bodily fluid loss.

The caffeine in the coffee you consume will allow you to be sharper in mind and in body. You will be able to see things more clearly and react faster than you would not on caffeine. Your body will also feel less fatigued and will boost your endurance by a lot. This way you will be able to outlast your competition.

Fortunately, coffee lovers have every reason to rejoice. This once maligned drink was recently given a clean bill of health by several health agencies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, National Cancer Institute, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and American Cancer Society.

Antioxidants are known to destroy free radicals in your body. Free radicals are substances that collect because of daily activities. Free radicals are electrons that eventually pile up and harm your body. You would need a good source of antioxidants so that you can control these levels in your body.

A study realized in the University of Arizona in 2002 pointed out that one of the effects that caffeine has on the human body is the improvement of memory. The study showed that the human memory is at its peak performance during the early hours of the day. During the day your memorizing capabilities drop down with each passing hour.
