Alcohol liver damage can often be irreversible, if the condition is left untreated for long and your liver will become so diseased that you can even die from it! Symptoms of Liver Tumors

In many cases, tumors are very difficult to detect outside the body. However, there are some noticeable symptoms of liver cancer that patients and doctors can watch out for, such as:

1-Abdominal pain (caused by liver inflammation or the tumor pressing against the abdomen)
2-Nausea and vomiting
3-Weight loss
4-Fever
5-Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes, caused because the liver is not properly detoxifying the blood)

Causes of Cirrhosis:

Cirrhosis of the liver has many potential causes with one of the most common be alcohol. The abuse of alcohol over time damages the liver creating scar tissue and is the leading cause of death in patients with cirrhosis. Chronic hepatitis C is the second leading cause of cirrhosis and spread by the contact of human blood that is infected with hepatitis C.

Hepatitis causes the liver to become inflamed and when it is left untreated over time this inflammation damages the liver creating scar tissue. Other causes of cirrhosis include hepatitis B and D

In the early stages of alcoholism, you may find yourself experiencing a lot of feeling of euphoria. You might find that alcohol gives you more self confidence and can put you in a better mood. This is usually the reason why some people begin drinking. Alcohol is what you could call "liquid courage". However after drinking for some time, you might find that your attention span has shortened and that your judgment might not be as good as they use to be.

High triglycerides may also lead to this status. Triglycerides are a form of fat, in which a molecule of glycerol combines with three fatty acids. In dietary sources, triglycerides are often found in animal fats and vegetable oils. When a patient has abnormally elevated amounts of triglycerides in the blood, he is considered to have high triglycerides (hypertriglyceridemia).

Symptoms of fatty liver disease include fatigue, liver pain and weight loss. One may come down with this condition when the liver has difficulty in breaking down fat. The fat then accumulates in the liver tissue. No single cause has been linked to fatty liver disease, but there are certain risk factors. Certain medications, high cholesterol, malnutrition and obesity can all lead to liver pain and fatty liver disease.

Unlike the stomach, for example, the liver never tells you directly when it is upset or needs special attention. It does tell you indirectly, though, when it starts to perform poorly. The following conditions would not occur if the liver were in optimum shape: skin irritation, weak eyesight, unhealthy bowel movements, irregular menstrual cycles, recurring headaches, unexplainable weight gain, loss of energy, sudden aging, elevated cholesterol levels, most allergies

Most people assume that some alcoholics slur a lot and are falling down drunk. The complete opposite is true. In fact if you are an alcoholic, chances are you function better drunk, than you do sober. Without alcohol you feel unbalanced, and dizzy. As you continue to drink, your friends and family might notice a marked change in your personality.

There are many triggers that can turn someone into an alcoholic. Social drinking has been woven into the social fabric of our culture and a lot of people enjoy the social life of bars,clubs and pubs as a meeting place to unwind and share a drink with good company however there is a downside to this as alcohol abuse affects not only your health but your family and friends and society itself.

The liver is a very tolerant organ and there is little evidence to suggest that it has an ageing problem such that, without disease, it can function properly into old age. However because most liver disease does not show symptoms and, when it does, the symptoms are often vague, many people with varying degrees of liver damage remain unaware of their liver problems.

The liver can get inflamed due to certain conditions, use of alcohol and certain chemicals. The conditions that can cause liver inflammation are Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Autoimmune Hepatitis, and Wilson's disease. Extensive alcohol use also causes inflammation of the liver. Some drugs and industrial pollutants may affect the liver. Inflammation is characterized by redness, swelling, heat and possible pain in the liver.
